I loved the notion of Tully being pushed well beyond his limits in getting the album recorded.
Hence, the label on one of the tapes in question, “Taype #174”. No secret by now, none of my guys can spell. Except for Bo. He has his moments.
One note of clarification here. The Ace Frehley mention here was in no way a slight on his talents as a musician at all. Frehley’s stage persona with Kiss was always “The Space Man”. He wore Science Fiction inspired make-up and costumes. All the elements needed for a Progressive Rock guitar icon.
But, Frehley never played spacey, dreamy Progressive Rock. Steve Howe does. Go Figure.
