Back-up Vocal~ The musical instrument world is full to overflowing with companies releasing products every year. Thus, conventions for both new and vintage equipment are a staple of the industry. The two biggest shows are the Winter NAMM and Summer NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants), which are weekend long events to showcase gear. Drums, guitars, basses, keyboards and effects pedal companies are all featured. Novice musicians and legends alike are always present. I have yet to attend one myself. Flights to California ain’t cheap, and I’d really just go to meet and bother my heroes instead of buying anything.
But, NAMM coverage in magazines got me thinking. If I can’t make it to a guitar show, then Splendorland University will host one. Now, my crew can go, and all you loverly Mannyacs can come with us!
