Back-up Vocal~ Accuracy is crucial in my work. I stand behind what I write in these pages. So,
fact checking is a regular part of my process. A bit of dialogue in a previous version this strip referenced the fact that the three musicians mentioned here never worked together before. But, thanks to a recent Tony Levin interview in England’s Bass Guitar Magazine, I learned that two of them had. So, the correction was made. Why mention it? Because I am responsible for the intel I share. It matters to me that you, my Beloved readers, know that I take pride in what I do, and I am meticulous with the music history I cite. You should expect nothing less from me.
I have always been a fan of the third Asia record, “Astra”. This was the only album to feature Mandy Meyer on guitars. Meyer brought a hard rock edge to the Asia sound. “Astra” never got the credit it deserved. To me, that’s a bit of a shame. Because, it houses some spectacular guitar work from Mr. Meyer. So, we at Mannyacs absolutely SALUTE his contributions to the Asia legacy!
